Rainbow Honey Product Review

Hey everyone! This will be a review on one of my purchases I made from Rainbow Honey. They are a company that sells nail polish, nail care products, and body and bath products. They even sell kits to make your own nail polish!! I might have to try that once. And I repeat, I did NOT get these for free. I bought these items with my own money that I worked hard for :)

Their website is www.rainbowhoney.com (it is currently closed as they get ready for April but they say it will be back open this weekend!)

First off here is what you should expect packaging wise from this company. My address was edited for privacy. I love that the items are packed in bubble wrap envelopes. Gives me another package to open within the package and I love it!

I ordered an unscented base coat, unscented top coat, and a pink nail polish they call Beautiful Pink. Here is a photo of all three together with their names. I panicked at first because nothing on the front of the nail polish has the name so I didn't know which was the base coat and which was the top coat, but then I found the stickers on the top. Phew!

Now to be totally honest, I don't know what to do with a base and top coat yet. I need to do some research tonight because I haven't painted my nails since middle school! But I want to get back into it and it seemed like an important thing so I bought them haha. Don't judge. First time for everything right?

Here is a photo of what Beautiful Pink looks like on my nails. No judging my dry wrinkly hands from cleaning thousands of aquariums and chicken poop off my hands and cleaning myself up after messy diapers from baby and living in a SUPER dry climate. And don't judge my nail painting job ;) I will try my best to improve!

Now all the self conscious comments aside, I actually really loved this nail polish. I love the light pastel color it is and it was fairly easy to apply. I believe I had to do 2-3 coats to get it the way I wanted. It's not my favorite when done with one coat.

Rainbow Honey is known for their sparkly nail polish. I love that this polish is SLIGHTLY sparkly. You can barely notice and I just love that. I am not a sparkle glitter all over kind of person. So I was quite pleased with this and will wear this color more often I think! and I think it makes my wedding ring look pretty and shiny :)

Now here is what I LOVE about Rainbow Honey that I don't see a lot of places. They have an amazing rewards program and just seem to really care about their customers and making their purchase a pleasant experience. I ordered the three nail polishes and they had a promo going on where they add a free gift to the order. They put a silver heart sticker on your receipt and a silver heart sticker on your free item. I just LOVE this.

I don't totally understand how this promo works because on their website it says "every purchase this weekend will have an item with a silver heart!" but I don't think I purchased it on the weekend.

The item I got for free with this order was a Lemongrass & Lime Cuticle Balm. Now total fail moment on my part. I read the label, and saw it was Cuticle Balm, but the minute I opened it the stick when straight to my lips. For some reason I spaced and within the two seconds of opening it instincts kicked in and the chapstick looking thing went there instead of my nails haha. And yes it tasted weird and felt weird.

That aside! I wasn't a huge fan of the scent at first. It definitely smells like grass at first. But then the lime sneaks through and it's actually quite pleasant. :) And I really like what it did to my cuticles! It's like...lotion for cuticles! Yes I am a nail noob but still. I thought it was a great product. And I got it for FREE!

So all in all, I got three nail polishes AND a cuticle balm. The pink nail polish was lovely and getting a free gift in my orders is definitely a fun surprise. I highly recommend Rainbow Honey.

They also have an amazing rewards program. For every $1 spent in the store you get 10 points. And even better, their rewards are so easy to reach. It's not like those rewards where you have to save up for 5 years and all you can redeem is a glitter star sticker.

I really loved my experience with them and I can't wait to get my mystery bags I ordered from them so please check back for those reviews coming REALLY soon.

BarkBox is a monthly subscription box for dogs. They also donate 10% of their profits to shelters.

They have normal and heavy chewer box options. If you need the heavy chewer option you need to contact them to let them know you. It is not an option when checking out, but it's free of charge to upgrade! Their treats also allergy friendly.

If you have multiple dogs contact them for different pricing options.

The Details of THIS Box

So here are the details for our subscription plan:
  • Big & Bold
  • Extra Toy (Free from Facebook promo. Usually an extra $9 per month)
  • 3 months = $24 per box
I chose to do the extra toy instead of the multipup deal because I felt it got pricey quick and the extra toy guarantees I have a toy for each dog. I also didn't want to be drowning in bags of treats.

We did NOT choose the heavy chewer option because even though my dogs destroy toys, they like that they can destroy them. They don't seem to play well with the heavy duty kong toys.

What's In the Box?

Moseley and Darwin were so excited when the box came! And when I went to open the box to take photos, Moseley knew EXACTLY what I was doing...opening HIS BOX. He had his eye on me through the whole photo shoot.

Ok so to the left is what the box looks like unopened. Love the packaging! Super easy to open.  On the right is the box opened! I love it when boxes have the items wrapped in paper. I feel like it just makes the surprise even better!

And here is a peak as to what is in side the box!! Looks like a lot of good stuff at first glance.

Treats

Lucky dog Grain-Free Roast Duck Treats - $9

These treats seem to be grain free which is a plus for those who have dogs with allergies! And I love that the ingredients are 100% all natural. We gave a few to the dogs to convince them to come back inside from playing to go to bed and they came running! And BarkBox approved! I need to find out what that really means.

Nature's Bits Soft Bison, Apples, and Peaches Treats - $8

Now these treats I have not given to the dogs yet. I'm saving them for Saturday for Darwin's test to pass his Dog Training class...hopefully it will be a good incentive for him to listen to me ;) Or at least look like he is listening. But I am sure they will be a hit!

Etta Says! Savory Yumm Stick - $3

And what dog doesn't love jerky sticks? I haven't given this to them yet just because I need to find a good way to split it so I can give it to both dogs. However they were going crazy for it just smelling it through the packaging so I have no doubt this will be gone in seconds.

Toys

Ok here are two little cards they had in the box because we did the extra toy promo. I think it's saying that the toll booth is the extra toy? But I know they try and keep to a theme every month and I believe this month was Sherlock Holmes, so I am a little confused as to why that is the extra toy when it's part of the theme? Cute little cards though.

Dogzilla Penguin Egg - $17

I knew from the start they would love this one because they had a ball similar to this that was a honeycomb shape so this toy was an instant hit.

Darwin chewed on it and kept throwing it around the house and Moseley kept pushing it against the couch. Because that's what he does with all of his toys. I was a little worried it wouldn't last long when I first saw it but it was a very thick material when I touched it. The grooves are also more difficult to get a hold of compared to their green ball they destroyed so I think that will make this toy last longer. I haven't put any treats in it yet because they were playing with it just fine without them. But they might actually destroy it if I do that...but I will keep you posted if that happens. So far it is a great sturdy toy and my dogs love it!

ThinkPet Telephone Booth - $14

The next toy is the phone booth. It claimed to be puncture proof on the tag. My husband and I laughed when I read it because Moseley breaks through anything and everything with his jaws of steel. And with Darwin's shark teeth from still being a puppy basically toys don't have a chance in our home.

However we were pleasantly surprised! Both dogs had their turn with this toy. Darwin didn't do any damage to the toy. Moseley was determined to destroy this toy, like he knew he was supposed to prove them wrong.

He busted the seams on the fabric (look at him with that little grin on his face) BUT the plastic insert remained intact! We were pleasantly surprised. My husband and I were humbled and our pups are happy with this toy.

Doggie Tail - $12

Ok this next toy is the greatest dog toy I have ever come across. It's supposed to shake and make puppy barking noises as it bounces around, and the fun things are triggered by the dog shaking the toy. The only downside to this toy is you have to supply your own AAA batteries. They were not included. Lucky for us we had some on hand.

My dogs FREAKED OUT with this toy. Moseley's hunting instincts kicked in and he just wanted to shake it and pounce it. Moseley on the other hand was a mix of absolutely completely terrified and wanting to play with it because Moseley was playing with it.

I do wish that it didn't make a barking noise because I feel like they're learning to attack a small dog. Like maybe make a duck noise or something instead. But still. Greatest toy ever. We very quickly found out that this toy could not be used during baby nap time and bed time. Moseley barks at it too much!

Final Thoughts

I absolutely LOVED this BarkBox, as did my dogs. They are able to eat all of the treats and loved playing with all three toys.

The total value of the box came to $63

That's an AWESOME deal for spending $24 on a box. Especially with the extra toy promo. I believe we will be resubscribing after our three months are over!

My box did come later than expected and I think it is because I subscribed later than their usual ship out date. My items also seem to be different compared to other boxes and I wonder if it is also because I subscribed late.

We can't wait for next month!!

What are your thoughts on this BarkBox or the one that you received this month?

The Dogs Are HOME!

Moseley and Darwin were picked up from the kennel on Friday!! My husband picked them up a day early since he forgot he had Friday off of work since it's Easter weekend. The Kennel workers said that Moseley was much happier when Darwin was around and they got play time together and separate (since Darwin gets a little feisty when he gets too tried). They were just the best of buds! And they said that Darwin took it very well for not being dropped off before. So I guess he doesn't like us THAT much. ;)

I was still out of town visiting my family when he picked them up but he said they looked all around the house for me. He also said that Darwin was particularly cuddly so I think he actually did in fact miss us. Yay! Moseley has always been a dog that prefers to play all day outside so has a hard time leaving the kennel once he is there because it's his dream!

Since they play ALL day long when they are at the kennel, they came home WIPED OUT. My husband said that they slept for quite some time. I am so happy they are home! I bought them two toys on my trip and I can't wait to give them to the dogs. I hope they like them! They were only $2.99 each at TJ Maxx and they seem pretty sturdy, so I hope they hold up to Darwin's puppy teeth and Moseley's jaws of steel. He can tear into basically anything! I got back into town Saturday night so I will give them their toys today for Easter :)

My husband said that he took them to the dog park on Saturday and they were still SUPER wiped out from the kennel, so they didn't play very well or for very long. But that's ok. A tired dog is a happy dog. I think.

Kennel Adventures

Darwin and Moseley were taken to the kennel this week since I went out of town for the week. I got an update today from them on Facebook and it looks and sounds like they are having tons of fun! Hopefully they want to come home with me when I go to pick them up! I am so grateful there is a kennel close by that is big enough for my big dogs to feel comfortable!

It's National Puppy Day!

Well it was...I changed blogs and can't get it to transfer. So the day I REALLY posted this was Puppy Day. But hey, National Puppy Day should be everyday anyways so I think I am fine ;)

In honor of this wonderfully happy day, here are my dogs when they were puppies. These were all taken the first week of bringing them home. I just wish they could stay small puppies forever! I picked up Molly in California, Moseley  in Colorado (it was quite a fun and exciting road trip for us!), and Darwin in Arizona. We like to travel for our puppies! And I am very positive there will be more puppies in my near future.

My Dogs & My Blog

In this blog I will be posting fun little updates of my dogs Moseley and Darwin. I will also be posting reviews on subscription boxes I have subscribed to since it seems that some of these are hard to find up to date reviews on! I hope to provide more information for those checking them out. I pay for the subscriptions myself and if they have been free or gifted I will let you know in the review. These will be my own HONEST opinions about what I think. I also will leave reviews on cute products I have purchased on Etsy.com or elsewhere so you can see all of the cute things I have found for you to purchase as well.
Now to introduce the dogs! Molly was my very first dog and she was a cocker spaniel poodle mix. We were buddies from the start.  The minute I sat down at the breeder's she sat right in my lap and never left. None of the other puppies showed any interest in me. And from there our beautiful friendship began! She only grew to be 8 lbs and lived a happy life until the age of 11. She started having seizures one day and they were happening to frequently for medication to work and had to make the very painful decision that it was her time. I miss her dearly!!!
Moseley we purchased in Colorado and picked up when he was 8 weeks. He is an F1b goldendoodle. He was the biggest in the litter and grew to be a whopping 100 lbs! He is a great dog and would play fetch all day long if he could. He is now 2 years old. He has a hard time leaving the rabbit and chickens alone though. His favorite things are his tennis balls and peanut butter. He also thinks he is a lap dog and LOVES snuggles.

Darwin is our newest addition and we got him in Arizona when he was 11 weeks old. He is also a goldendoodle but has very unique markings! He was supposed to be a more normal sized dog, but as he grew older his paws got bigger. I think we have another 100 lb dog in the making. He is 23 weeks old and 49 lbs. He is such a sweetheart and a great family dog!
